Make This St. Patty's Day the Best One Yet
By Lenny & Larry's. Posted on March 17, 2017.
There’s so much to love about St. Patrick’s Day. (Unless you hate the color green, because then your day is pretty much instantly ruined.) There’s the cute little bearded leprechauns, four leaf clover overload, and of course the promise of a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow. Here’s how to make this holiday your best one yet.
1. Pick Out the Perfect Green Outfit
There are two types of people in this world: the type that has a bunch of green options in their closet to choose from, and the type that has absolutely nothing. No matter which type you are, you need to make the green thing happen — even if you feel like the Hulk — because if you don’t, there will be consequences.
2. Make Sure to Pinch at Least Four People
Pinching is a very important St. Patty’s Day tradition, and anyone who doesn’t follow the whole green-wearing rule — especially the hottie in the marketing department — should most definitely be punished.
3. Eat and Drink Green All Day Long
If you’ve ever wanted an excuse to eat green food all day, this is it. Start your day with a kale and spinach smoothie (major green points!) or some green eggs and ham inspired by Dr. Seuss. When lunch rolls around, a bright green salad with avocado dressing is a solid choice. Next up, a snack of all-green veggies like cucumber, broccoli, and snap peas. And spiralized noodles and pesto couldn’t be more perfect for dinner. Post it all on Instagram and your friends are sure to be green with envy. (See what we just did there?)
4. Perfect Your Irish Phrases
Even if you’re not Irish, St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect excuse to learn some phrases and impress everyone you meet with them. Shall we begin? Instead of saying “What’s up!” greet everyone with “Story horse?” If a co-worker is being annoying, tell them they’re “acting the maggot.” And if someone needs to put on a little more deodorant, feel free to say, “Look at the state o'you!” Now, go have a whale of a time. (Because yes, that’s also a thing.)
5. Celebrate With Your Friends After Work
Because St. Patrick’s Day is also on a Friday, going to a little after-work celebration with your friends is a must. Bonus points if you head somewhere Irish, and double bonus points if you pinch people along the way. (You’re almost at Pro Pincher status by this point.)
6. Grab the Perfect Snack On Your Way Home
With all these festivities, you’ve probably worked up quite an appetite. And if you’re sick of green veggies — which after a full day of them is totally understandable — there is one exception: grabbing a Lenny & Larry’s cookie. Bonus points for munching on our green Coconut Chocolate Chip!
7. Have the Sweetest, Most Magical Dreams
If you don’t want your epic St. Patty’s Day to end just yet, it doesn’t have to. Close your eyes and imagine rolling around in that pot of gold you found. And when you wake up in the morning, get excited because you can do it all over again next year.
